Our Team

Meg Schell, CPA
President

Meg’s accounting journey began in the corporate world. After 7 years sitting in an office cubicle in Chicago she knew the corporate world of accounting wasn’t right for her. She and her husband moved to Madison to raise their 2 boys and, after realizing that Wisconsin winters are very long, took an interest in taxation. Meg began preparing taxes in 1996. This career change developed into her true passion. Working with people and their taxes became extremely rewarding as she came to know her clients personally and the challenges that tax preparation presented them. Meg holds a BBA in accounting from Wayne State University in Detroit, and obtained her CPA through the University of Illinois.

In her spare time Meg plays as much tennis as possible. She and her husband spend the summers sailing Lake Michigan, a dream fulfilled after 30 years.

Michele Trewitt, Tax Accountant

Michele Joined Schell CPA in November 2018 after graduating from Saint Mary’s College in 2017 with a BBA in Accounting. Before joining us Michele worked for a public accounting firm and has always been extremely interested in tax. She also spent three summers interning for different companies in their tax/accounting departments. Michele recently relocated to Madison to be closer to family and to expand her tax knowledge beyond corporations and partnerships.

When not preparing tax returns, Michele likes to cook, read and hike.
